Expanding My Services: Now Accepting Premera and Lifewise Insurance for Telehealth Counseling in Washington State

I’m excited to share some fantastic news about my telehealth counseling services! Starting November 2024, I am officially accepting Premera and Lifewise insurance in Washington State. This means that more individuals can access the mental health support they need without the added financial worries that often come with therapy.

In recent years, telehealth has proven to be an essential resource. It allows people to connect with their counselors from the safety and comfort of their homes. With the acceptance of Premera and Lifewise insurance, I am dedicated to making my services even more available and affordable for those in need.

Why This Matters

Accepting insurance is a game changer for many. The financial burden of mental health care can be overwhelming. For people from BIPOC communities, finding affordable therapists can often be a daunting task. According to a report from the American Psychological Association, only about 22% of BIPOC individuals access mental health services. By including these insurance plans, I aim to lower that number, making mental health support a priority without the financial strain.

With your Premera or Lifewise insurance, you can use your benefits to help cover the cost of therapy. This change not only supports individual wellness but also helps strengthen our communities by promoting mental health resources.

How Telehealth Counseling Works

If you are new to telehealth, you might be curious about how the process unfolds. It’s much simpler than you might think. With the new acceptance of Premera and Lifewise, here’s a quick look at what to expect:

  1. Initial Consultation: We will start with a free 15-min consultation. This allows you to share your thoughts and feelings while I gain a better understanding of your unique needs.

  2. Setting Up Insurance: Once you decide to move forward, I will assist you in getting your Premera or Lifewise coverage in place. All verification steps will be clear, and I will guide you through the process. I work with Shelterwood Collective to aid in this process.

  3. Scheduled Sessions: After your insurance is verified, we can set up regular appointments. Whether you prefer weekly or bi-weekly sessions, I’ll work to accommodate your schedule.

  4. Ongoing Support: Throughout your journey, I will be there to provide continuous support and helpful resources to navigate challenges effectively.

The combination of telehealth convenience and insurance support helps ensure that you can actively engage in your mental health journey.

Overcoming Stigma: Making Therapy Approachable

Stigma around seeking mental health care is still prevalent in many BIPOC and immigrant communities. Some individuals believe counseling isn’t for them or feel embarrassed to ask for help. It’s crucial to understand that choosing to seek therapy is a sign of strength.

With the ease of accessing your insurance benefits, seeking help has never been simpler. I encourage anyone who’s hesitant to reach out and learn more about their options. My goal is to provide a caring, understanding, and non-judgmental space for everyone.

It’s my commitment to create an environment where clients feel safe to focus on their healing journeys, knowing that their unique stories and voices matter.

I also still have space remaining for those who wish to pay out-of-pocket. Book your free consultation today for any questions you may have!
